This is the Farlows' third year at RSCA. Marcie and her husband, Trevor, have two daughters. Grace is in 2nd grade and Nora is in first. Marcie’s background is in mental health and she is a licensed therapist in Colorado, having worked in the counseling field prior to starting a family.
Although grateful for her education and training, several years ago Marcie began pursuing the adjacent field of spiritual direction because she firmly believes that, aside from organic mental illness, the true root of any issue will not be addressed until a problem is uncovered that only the Gospel of Jesus can speak to.
The last few years have solidified in her a growing burden for this generation to know both the unequivocal beauty of Jesus and the high cost of discipleship in a culture increasingly hostile to the truth of God’s Word.
Her hope as chaplain is to build relationships with both students and families. She desires to be available for prayer, encouragement, or simply reassurance that there is nothing amiss when the narrow road feels narrow at times. Additionally, her prayer is that this year will be a pivotal one in each student’s journey to discover his or her deepest desire to know Christ above all else.
