I think that the number one thing my child is gaining is the opportunity to witness so many adults live their day-to-day lives loving Jesus and loving others.
Why did you choose Rock Solid for your child?
We had been considering homeschool since our oldest child was a toddler. An emphasis on teaching truth and biblical principals was of utmost importance to us along with quality education. Then in a search for options for our child’s education I found Rock Solid. It seemed like the perfect mix allowing all of the benefits of homeschooling while still getting support from qualified teachers and the benefit of giving our daughter classmates, a different approach to learning and forming trusted relationships with other adults. It has proven to be exactly that- a perfect mix and we could not be more happy with the schooling path our family is on.
What do you love most about Rock Solid?
We love that our daughter loves school! She is so excited to go to class on school days. She loves the teachers and her classmates.
We also love all of the extra time this education model provides our family. We have the chance for long weekends and exponentially more quality time together as a family and for our daughter to have so much additional one on one time with her siblings and be a bigger part of their lives as she gets to see them grow.
We love that our daughter is being taught truth from a variety of wonderfully caring adults and that she is being given yet another environment (apart from home and church) to practice hiding God’s word in her heart.
What is one word that describes our school? Tell us why you chose that word.
Accommodating. In our short time I have only ever had the impression that the teachers at Rock Solid genuinely care for my daughter not only as a student, but also as a child of God. The teachers and staff care about their students learning and have been so accommodating in encouraging me to teach her in the way that is best for her.
Describe one of your favorite teachers and the impact this person has had in your child's life -- or perhaps a specific example of a way this teacher has cared for your student in a special way.
Mrs. Elliott. She just might be the very best teacher in the whole world! I know when Arden was in her class she cared so much about her well being. There was a specific instance last year when after school Arden just seemed really off. It’s hard to get details out of a five year old on how their day went, but I just could not figure out what was the trigger that sent her into such a downward spiral that afternoon. I reached out to Mrs. Elliott to ask if she noticed anything during the day. She immediately showed care and concern for Arden and even shocked in later that evening to be sure Arden was feeling better. I was taken aback by the love and kindness she showed my daughter and it reassured me that on school days my daughter is so well loved even when she is away from home!
How is Rock Solid preparing your child for God's call on their lives, including hopes, plans, and dreams for college, career, and/or community?
I think that the number one thing my child is gaining is the opportunity to witness so many adults (teachers/aides/office staff/board members/ administration….) live their day to day lives loving Jesus and loving others. She can grow up and go anywhere in the world and “be” anything she wants to be while still choosing first to love Jesus and love others.
What an extravagantly crucial opportunity this school provides kids to be surrounded by peers and teachers and other parents who desire a Christ centered life!
I have already seen the evidence that watching others love the Lord is having on my child and it is so important to be that these principals and examples modeled at home and at church are also being modeled at school.
What would you tell another parent to encourage them to consider enrolling their child at Rock Solid?
It is worth it! This school is outstanding! Ask any questions you have. Communicate any hesitations you might be wrestling with. There are so many parents and students and families and teachers and staff who will listen to you and care for your needs and help you along the way!
